William Weeks writes in the tradition of his father, Paul Weeks, staff writer for the LOS ANGELES TIMES who was described by NEWSWEEK as one of the "ten most important writers of the Civil Rights Movement." His debut historical novel, BARRIO BARRISTERS, based upon the true story of his good friend, Miguel Garcia, describes how the Pitchess Motion and Murgia Decision came about. Pitchess is used daily in California courts to discover complaints against abusive law enforcers, and Murgia is being used to protect victims of ICE raids who have been detained. Mr. Weeks lives with his wife, Yumiko, in San Pedro, California. He is a member of The Authors Guild, P2P, IWOSC/WPN and a contributor to Medium.com. NOTE: Barrio Barristers is not out yet--please leave your email if you are interested in getting a copy.
